Dress for interviews

Hello fellow pre-optometry students,
I’m hoping those that have already had some interviews can let me know if anyone was wearing a professional/business dress? It’s hard for me to find slacks that work well with my body shape, so I have purchased a classy/professional (but also understated) dress to wear with a black blazer for my interview. Does this seem appropriate or was everyone in pants?
