Deposits at Multiple Optometry Schools

Hello, I was wondering if its ok to put down deposits for acceptance at multiple schools?

So, I was put on alternate list at ICO, and they require to put down the deposit. However, I got accepted at another school and need to put my deposit there soon to be safe. So, from my understanding, I've to wait and see if anything else opens up at ICO.

Those who were accepted from the alternate list, how late did you hear back from ICO?
