I'm not going to write a sob story here and will spare everyone the details.
I already know what I did was wrong and I shouldn't have done it. I was desperate and stupid. It will take me a long time to rebuilt my integrity, and I am sincerely remorseful. I have compromised a part of myself which I truly valued. I know people will make fun of me and tell me to give up, and I accept these type of replies with no objection, because I deserve it.

What is the average Oat scores and GPA to get there?
How many shadowing & volunteering hours are preferable?

Hi everyone! I'm going to be a senior in the fall, and I will be submitting my OD applications this summer on July 1st, 2017 (taking OAT August 7th). However, I will be studying abroad in London, England mid-September to the end of December. I was just wondering how this will work with receiving interviews. OSU interview invite timeline

I'm applying to OSU as a non-resident student. This is my top school, so I would like to interview there first if possible. However, since I'm non-resident, I'm wondering if they would wait to invite me for an interview and give preference to Ohio residents. I understand that they have rolling admissions, so will they just extend invites as applications come in?

I just attended SUNY's open house this week & met with an admissions representative who advised that I attend one of their programs in late July before submitting my application. I would therefore submit my application sometime in early August. I understand the importance of applying early in the cycle, so I just wanted to ensure that applying in August would still be considered very early? I just graduated from UCSD and have a 3.34 GPA and plan on taking the OAT sometime in August.
I know this GPA is on the lower side but I'm hoping that my extracurriculars help ease the burden.
I've had the same job on campus (not related to optometry) since I was a freshman and worked on average 20 hrs/ week. During my senior year, I got a second job as an optometric technician and worked full time over break (40 hrs/week) and part-time during the school year (20 hrs/week).

Hi Everyone, I have a few questions that were very vaguely answered by schools when I contacted them. Could you help me out?

I graduated with a BS with a 3.4 and fulfilled all the requirements. Some of these requirements were Honors level. I also graduated with a MPH with a 3.7. This was heavy on advanced math and epidemiology and public health courses. Do they count graduate work at all?

For shadowing, they kept stressing variety of optometrists. Because I developed an interest in OD...

Hey all,

The OptomCas will be open soon! I'm getting ready to work on my application. These are the schools that I will be applying. Just want to check if they are safe schools for me to apply. I hear that some schools only pick in-state students. From my dental friend, New England picks 85% students in-state. I'm not sure if that applies the same to optometry.. what do you guys think?

How many recommendation letters are 'enough'?

Hey guys,

Got a quick question regarding recommendation letters for the application. How many recommendation letters are considered enough? I am currently taking two summer classes and I probably only get one letter from those classes. Here is what I got lined up so far.

1 from optometrist
1 from formal employer
1 (but not sure) from a instructor

As a non-traditional student, I do not have any other ways to get recommendation letters from instructors. Do you think 3 letters from above...

How many recommendation letters are 'enough'?

I would like to start my application early but my GPA is a bit low. Should I wait until I take my OAT to submit my application? Or should I just start my application/send it in early and then send in my scores later? Really not sure which is better. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello everyone! I am planning on taking the OAT this summer and I am looking for some advice. Should I study using the OAT destroyer/other prep books first and then take the Kaplan online course? Or the other way around? Or do you think it does not matter? Thanks in advance!
